Customer Mapping for Rural Water Supply

The Customer Mapping for Rural Water Supply project is led by WASAC, in partnership with Rwanda Young Water Professional (RYWP) and supported by Water for People Rwanda. The project focuses on improving rural water supply services through a comprehensive national mapping of all water customers, including households, public institutions, and industries.

The primary goal is to ensure accurate registration of customers into the newly launched Customer Management System for Rural Water Supply Services (CMS-RWSS). This initiative will help address the issue of non-revenue water (NRW) caused by unregistered usage and inaccurate billing, while also updating the customer database last mapped in 2018.

Rwanda Young Water Professional (RYWP) plays a key role in supporting private operators (POs) to capture and register high-quality, exhaustive data into the CMS-RWSS, ensuring accurate and comprehensive information to improve rural water service delivery and revenue collection.
